Fresh Juicy Sausage

If you enjoy fresh real sausage made from 100% meat, then you must visit the Porky Shop behind e-Mart. To get there from Miri, please refer to the map below.

... The shop is just opposite the e-Mart BBQ Centre.

Ok... let me introduce you the friendly towkay... Christian! He is from Switzerland married to a local girl from Sibu. He has been a professional cook for 20 years! He handmade all the sausages himself from 100% meat!

This is smoked black pepper sausage ... hot from the oven.

After you tasted this, you will know what is real sausage!

At the moment, he made three varieties of sausages.

This is mushroom sausage made from his own special recipe!
By the way, he can do special delivery and now he has customer from as far as Kuching .

He made his own belly bacon... my favorite while I was studying overseas.

He also made his own smoked pork knuckle ....

Fresh and juicy!

Looking for premium quality minced meat? RM15/Kg.

After he collected the meat from the abatoir, they were chilled immediately to retain freshness. This is the correct way to store and handle fresh meat. I saw this kind of display & storage only in overseas.

Their prices are the same if not cheaper than other butcher. They have their own pig farm.

This is their young handsome son. Our Parliament are still debating whether to learn English or not... let's see what languages he speaks: BM, English, Mandarin, German and some Foochow. I am not sure what other languages he speaks but my mind stop registering after the long list!

Greatness is determined by Service

Dr. Martin Luther King said, “Everyone has the power of greatness; not for fame, but greatness. Because greatness is determined by service.”

How true is this statement. Mother Teresa has set an example of great service and her legacy continues on despite her passing away. There are many people with great fame, especially those in the entertainment industry... few remember them for any good work of service.

In the same way, Jesus humble Himself and washed the feet of his disciples. He continued to say that no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Secret Recipe

We have a meal at Secret Recipe on 10/Nov.
Generally the food is acceptable. We recognised that some of the food must be precooked. However, their business is pretty good.

Joanne, our friendly waitress...

First to come out!

Nice lasagna...

Drumstick... my sons already "attacked" their food before I have opportunity to take picture.

Stew Lamb ... not bad at all!

Jonathan lost his handphone again

Two months back, Jonathan park his car opposite the school and has his handphone stolen. It was in the public place. So, he has no eyewitness. Since then, he moved his car and park within the school. Yesterday, he saw his form mate "doing something" in the car. He lost his handphone again. Apparently this form 5 boy has already mastered the skill to open car door and steal stuff. How to survive for the rest of his life? Living a life as thief or not? Shall I report this to the police? I am not sure what to do. Any opinion?
Update:
I have consulted the head of security today and he advised me to talk to the headmaster, get the discipline teacher to act on it. If all fail, then I will have to report this to the police. The police will get in the boy for questioning.

The truth about self-made millionaires

A blog entry by Adam Khoo - Singapore's Youngest Millionaire
Note: Thanks to SaM of MC. The blog for Adam Khoo is at www.Adam-Khoo.com

Quote:
The truth is that most self-made millionaires are frugal and only spend on what is necessary and of value. That is why they are able to accumulate and multiply their wealth so much faster. Over the last 7 years, I have saved about 80% of my income while today I save only about 60% (because I have my wife, mother in law, 2 maids, 2 kids, etc. to support). Still, it is way above most people who save 10% of their income (if they are lucky). I refuse to buy a first class ticket or to buy a $300 shirt because I think that it is a complete waste of money. However, I happily pay $1,300 to send my 2-year old daughter to Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama without thinking twice.

When I joined the YEO (Young Entrepreneur's Organization) a few years back (YEO is an exclusive club open to those who are under 40 and make over $1m a year in their own business) I discovered that those who were self-made thought like me. Many of them with net worths well over $5m, travelled economy class and some even drove Toyota's and Nissans (not Audis, Mercs, BMWs).

I noticed that it was on ly those who never had to work hard to build their own wealth (there were also a few ministers' and tycoons' sons in the club) who spent like there was no tomorrow . Somehow, when you did not have to build everything from scratch, you do not really value money. This is precisely the reason why a family's wealth (no matter how much) rarely lasts past the third generation. Thank God my rich dad (oh no! I sound like Kiyosaki) foresaw this terrible possibility and refused to give me a cent to start my business.

Then some people ask me, 'What is the point in making so much money if you don't enjoy it?' The thing is that I don't really find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. Even if buying something makes me happy it is only for a while, it does not last. Material happiness never lasts, it just give you a quick fix . After a while you feel lousy again and have to buy the next thing which you think will make you happy. I always think that if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life.

Instead, what make ME happy is when I see my children laughing and playing and learning so fast. What makes me happy is when I see by companies and trainers reaching more and more people every year in so many more countries. What makes me really happy is when I read all the emails about how my books and seminars have touched and inspired someone's life. What makes me really happy is reading all your wonderful posts about how this BLOG is inspiring you. This happiness makes me feel really good for a long time, much much more than what a Rolex would do for me.

I think the point I want to put across is that happiness must come from doing your life's work (be in teaching, building homes, designing, trading, winning tournaments etc.) and the money that comes is only a by-product. If you hate what you are doing and rely on the money you earn to make you happy by buying stuff, then I think that you are living a life of meaningless.

Exam Over!

After a week of preparation and exam, it is now finally over. So, the children are bringing back their results...

Me: Ah... how come you get only 78 for your Chinese Science paper? All your other papers were so good!
Jos: Oh, if I get another correct answer, it will be 80!

Mummy: Aiyo, so many wrong answers.... (he got many wrong answers on the same page under the same topic)
Jos: But I got so many correct answers....! (He actually got 80+!)

p/s. This conversion does not imply that we are not happy with his result but rather to show how creative is his answer to us!

After 2-3 weeks since we "adopted" this puppy, the mother dog die suddenly. So this puppy has no one to bring her around, especially going "home". Now, she is spending all the meal time at our house and sleep at our neighbour house because they have another bigger dog.
Jos has always been caring and concerned about the feeding. So, he was squatting a little too close to this puppy and she "grrrrrrrrr" at him. Feeling upset about the incident, he went upstairs.
Tim: So you regret bringing her back ah?
Jos: :(

Pasar Malam (Night market) - Finger food

The pasar malam or night market in Miri which is situated opposite SESCO opens every weekend on Friday and Saturday. The colour of the food can be very attractive...

If you are organising a party or just want a quick bite, this would be ideal.

They have assorted array of food already on stick.

Children would love these food...

BBQ bishop nose .... must be delicious.

Pasar Malam - Local delicacies

If you are hungry in the evening on Friday or Saturday, just visit the pasar malam (Night market) opposite SESCO in Miri, Malaysia. The varieties of food available there will not disappoint you.

I tried this once ... the filling is a mixture of meat (beef) and cabbage. If you are hungry, down one piece of these.

This is rather delicious... the taste is better than the look... it is of Indian origin called roti telur (bread with egg).

The making of apam Balek... a type of Malay pancake.

Sprinkle with a generous amount of crushed peanut. Could be too sweet. So before you buy, ask for "less sugar".
Before they are ready, there are usually buyers eager to sink their teeth into them!

Any taker?

They will chop it up for you...
