Idromat pump maintenance

I blogged about this Idromat pump earlier saying that it is an useless pump.
I am determined to fix the problem as I believe that the problem could be quite easy to fix.

I dismantled the pump the other day after finding the motor to have jammed up. This can be tested easily by using a screw driver, pop it through a hole (end of motor and a fan is visible through the grill) on the left side of this picture.
The biggest challenge is to remove the three screws as shown above. Honestly I failed to remove them. So I brought it to my mechanic for help. It seems so easy for him!
After removing the cap, I rotated the motor pump mechanism and found that the motor is not stuck. So a faulty bearing is immediately ruled out.
Then I realised that the cap is full of dirt sticking onto the cap. So, I used the screw driver to scrap off all the dirt, put the cap back and found that the motor now has free movement! I connect it to the power and bingo, the pump is now perfect again.
I found that copper or brass is used for the construction of this pump.  This is very good.
To test for the capacitor fault, just power on and check whether the motor attempt to move. If nothing happening, it is high chance that the capacitor is faulty.

Water Pump Problem

We installed this Idromat water pump just over two years ago and now, it had broken down. To be exact, the motor had jammed! After a year of usage, the capacitor blew. Now the motor jammed. The other main issue with this water pump is that it is a continuous running pump and therefore very unkind with electricity. In another word, expensive to operate.

Looks like we need to go back to the convention household pump made by Hitachi or National.

Updates: See my newer post. This pump is not as useless as I first thought!

Accident and accident

After two weeks of dry weather, drivers seems to forget that they need to be extra careful as the road is slippery. This morning as I come back from Miri town, there were four accidents between Miri Library and Boulevard. One of them was at the traffic light leading to Jalan Bintang. There were three separate accidents between Krokop Lorong 1 junction and Boulevard.

So, drive carefully and expect traffic jam this morning. Better still don't rush out to town if you have to use this stretch of road.

Learn how to speak kind words...

My late mother advised us all the time to speak gentle and with kind words as it has a lot more power ( 轻声讲重话)! That was when I was very young. She never went to school, cannot read a word but deeply religious. What she said was so true as I search the bible to support her wise words.

Just to share with my readers this morning the wise teaching of proverb:
The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips. Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. Proverbs 16:23-24 ESV
(智慧人的心教訓他的口,又使他的嘴增長學問。良言如同蜂房,使心覺甘甜,使骨得醫治。箴言 16:23-24)

Click here and you will be amazed to all the wise words. I hope it will spur you to be more gracious with your words.

What prompted me to write this entry is due to a comment by one of my valued readers. That person started off  with "You idiot". I met lots of people (teachers, customers, friends, bosses, students) who swear and speak unkind words all the time. But why people said such unkind words? I believe I can summarised some of them here from all my observations:

1. Bad mood
2. Bad parental role model - monkey see monkey do!
3. Pride - especially with bosses.
4. Unseen and virtual, ie, internet. You will noticed a lot of these on the social network.
5. Bad teaching and bad influence
6. Attention seeker
7. Speak before thinking
8. Emptiness in the heart

So, can we all learn how to speak kind words to each other so that it can build each other up!
Just remember that words badly spoken brought countries to wars and even death to individual. Read this good article here.

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29 ESV

The 1st Sarawak Chinese Tea Expo

Tea has influenced the world's trade, politics, traditions, art, religious rituals and philosophies. It has brought many to riches and sent many to ruins. Wars were started because of tea; The Opium trade was initiated by the tea trade in China. There is always more to be learned about the ever-evolving world of tea. Why not pay a visit to the first ever Chinese Tea Expo at Permy Mall, Miri this weekend.

The Koala and the Lizard

One day a koala is sitting up a gumtree smoking a joint when a little lizard walks past, looks up and says: "Hey Koala, what are you doing?"

The koala says: "Smoking a joint.
Come up and have some."

So the little lizard climbs up, sits next to the koala
and they enjoy a large doobie.

After a while the little lizard says his mouth is dry
and he is going to get a drink from the river.

But the little lizard is so stoned that he leans too far over and falls into the river.

A crocodile sees this, swims over to the little lizard and helps him to the side then asks the little lizard:

"What's the matter with you?"

The little lizard explains to the crocodile that he was sitting smoking a joint with the koala in the tree, got too stoned and then fell into the river while taking a drink.

The crocodile says he has to see this, and walks into the rain forest, finds the tree where the koala is sitting, with yet another joint.

He looks up and says "Hey you!"

The koala looks down at him and says...

"shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttt, Dude.......
How much water did you drink?"

Police brutality at Bersih 3.0

Watching this video clip made me very angry! Our minister said the police did a good job and very professional.

I just wonder beating up innocent people is what they call professional, especially with a long stick. The police is no different from the gangsters!
As a matter of fact, there are so many crime out there which they need to solve.
Very very sad indeed!

So Astro also censor Bersih 3.0 video from BBC

We all know that the BN regime wanted the people to believe that BN is always doing the right thing, they are not the aggressor but the demonstrator. So, if that is the case, why do they need to censor the report by BBC?
Just watch the above report. This simply means that the current government has more to hide!
This also prove that Astro is also a BN regime running dog! I will terminate my license. There is no point only to be fed by rosy stories.

Updates: Read it here.
In a nutshell: Astro broadcast operations senior vice-president Rohaizad Mohamed explained to The Malaysian Insider that the 2:16-minute clip was cut in accordance with national content regulations. However, the clip contained shots where Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spoke to reporters.

I believe the so called national content regulations is a verbal request from the BN government to censor whatever is not in favour of the government or face the music!
