Chinese New Year Fever

I noticed that as one gets older, time seems to pass faster. Once, I heard an explanation like this: Time is relative to ones' age. So, when we were young, a year seems to take forever. As we get older, eg, 50 years old, one year is just 1/50 of ones' life. And that is short! Ok, whatever, Chinese new year is just round the corner. I think it is just one more month to go. Today, I was in town and saw Boulevard Hypermarket already decorated ...
... with new year lantern, etc.
Don't worry, they have plenty for sales also.
One golden lion ...
... and a red lion at the main door. I don't really understand the significant of the colour but let me try: golden represent gold... so, lots of money for the years to come, ie, prosperity. Red is for luck, ie, plenty of good luck, which again narrow it down to prosperity. So, whatever is the colour, they are talking about ...
... they wish you smooth sailing into the new year and wishing you lots of good luck and prosperity.
