Raining and raining

The weather has gone crazy! It has been raining rather heavily before Christmas 2008. Now two weeks later, it is still raining! The most difficult part since the school reopen on 5th Jan, is that it has been raining at around 5:50AM everyday.

So the children going to school everyday must face the rain! Look at this morning... this original (no retouch) picture was taken from my car... just see how gloomy it was. Traffic jam, etc.
It also reminded me of the good old days... the luxury of cars was limited to a few who are rich and where roads were available. Most of us would walk for 1-2 KM to school. Some walk even further. Many would cycle for up to 8KM. While I was in primary one, I remembered only twice when my father would cover me under a thin raincoat, mounted me on the bicycle and cycle me to school. My brothers would cycle on their own.
It was illegal to carry any body on a bicycle at that time. So, my father was risking being "caught by the police".

The talk about man made Carbon Dioxide causing global warming is simply hot air. How do you explain all these coldness (it was 20.5 deg C in the evening and 23.5 in mid day in the equator) and minus 40 deg in northern hemisphere right now?

Google "Myth of global warming" and you can see it's more propaganda than scientific facts.

Kong, Global warming and don't eat eggs yolk are all "rubbish". I knew of people who are very long life who have been taking eggs non-stop!

Flower: 6am ah? I am trying to get them ready only and I am still preparing breakfast. It is good to go early! This morning was bad... the rain was so heavy.

if there is no rain, 6.20am from home, reach school 6.35am. if it rains, go early.

ya, that is about the same time as me. However, I will normally reach school around 6:40AM.

That photo is a more glamourous depiction of Britain in June!

"Earth's climate has warmed by about 1 degree Fahrenheit since 1900. In the Arctic, where a number of processes amplify the warming effects of carbon dioxide, most regions have experienced a temperature rise of 4 to 7 degrees in the last 50 years."

Global warming is not a myth, it is fact. What we may be divided on is how it's caused. Some say cows breaking wind causes more global warming than our cars! I just don't know what to believe... except that the climate is changing and if we don't colonise the moon soon we're all going to end up as fried noodles.

Phil, increase of temp globally is true and I agree with you that the view on the cause is divided. For once, I don't really agree with the gas emission stuff... perhaps it is just one of the contributing factor. Another is the over population. Then the extensive cutting of trees, etc. Also, there are more cars which emit a lot of hot air. Anyway, let the scientists argue and we do our part by being "green" as much as we can.

AT & Flower: Just organise a potbless and I cook the dish(es) which I think you like and we enjoy each other cooking... hahaha. Good idea?

Flower: My wife is already waiting for foods to be served lah...

I remember those days when dads used to "lumpang" their kids on their bicycles!! And risk being caught by the Police too...

Nowadays big cars big dads jam up all the roads by their parking...sometimes 5 cars in two lanes right in front of Chung Hua School Miri....no more humility and selflessness...only arrogance and selfishness.

No wonder the world is in conflict.

Everywhere war zone.

Please take photos of Chung Hua School and the idiots who don't care about others right of way....

Sarawakiana, AT, I have been bearing with those parents for a long time already! I remember a "rich & fat" woman in her huge 4WD who stopped in the middle of the road. The cars in front & sides had all moved out. She just refused to move! I came down and asked her to move forward ... there was totally no response from her. I thought she was dead with her eyes still open!
On the first day of school opening, one car parked right in the middle of the main road and the driver disappeared. There was bad traffic jam because of this driver. I saw the police giving out a ticket!

william, cars going to bintang plaza, main road congest. some cars obstruct the traffic flow by parking their cars at the road side. policemen issue summons if no one in the car. they should as well get them drive away if drives are waiting there. like KLCC, the policemen nonstop whistling. no cars are allowed to park there. passengers get out as quick as they could. do u think its better to divert by using the other jalanraya at bintang primary school area? please try to take some pics if u happen to meet one. what do u guys think and what's your opinion?

Flower: I think if the traffic jam continues, they must block that entry!
