After four compact cameras, James said that enough is enough. He wanted something better. He wanted to be able to take more creative photos without flash...
... I could feel the intensity of his "desire" to have a SLR... but which one and when? His last straw came when his camera failed him during the 2008 Miri Christmas Parade.
So now, he is a proud owner of a Nikon D60. He is now taking good photos in poor lighting.

Maybe we should start a media ministry?
Andy,
Ya, generally agree with you. This will also form a sort of journal for GMC. We just transform the 40DOP blog.
I like it - taking pictures of people taking pictures! =) Hopefully James is happier now with his Nikon D60. I'm afraid I have to make do with my old camera phone =0 But there's not much beautiful in the UK to take a picture of unfortunately!
James is very happy with his new camera. But talking about beautiful places in UK, actually your landscape, building, etc are all very beautiful. I think this is a matter of seeing it everyday and you got used to it. Maybe I called this "looking" but no longer "seeing" the beauty of your surrounding. It is like our own surrounding here. So, the job of a photographer is to frame what you think is nice and freeze it. But again, it has to do with hobby as well.
Hope you have a great Christmas and a blessed new year.
