Horror accident at Lutong Junction (photos added)

A very serious accident at Lutong junction which ...occurred at Lutong traffic light this afternoon. I saw one body being taken out ...
... of this wreckage. I arrived there after the cement truck was removed to facilitate removal of the body. (The above photos which were received via e-mail were not taken by me. If you are the person who took these pictures please let me know so that credit can be given to you)
The force and impact was so great that the boot of the car was literally pushed under the bus. Notice the bus front wheel was suspending in the air!
Fireman cleaning up the mess...
It was a Toyota Vios...
... slight damage to the truck.
The car was waiting for the traffic light to turn green. The truck must have gone "out of control" and smashed into the stationary car and pushed the car some 20 feet to the road side. The back of the car hit the bus.
My friend's car (the silver car in the center) missed the accident by just one car!
I saw one fatality in this smashed up pile. Very sad indeed and my condolences to the family whom many of us actually know.
Update: 6:00PM He was a Shell employee.
Update: 8 June. I was told that the brake on the truck failed. This seems to be consistence with the evidence on site as there was no tire mark on the road. So, the impact was full force. I did not measure the distance, but I think the car was pushed sideway by at least 30 feet, ie, 10 meters.
Update: 9 June. We are still recovering from shock! Apparently the truck driver was first day reporting for duty!! Lesson learned: If you are driving an unfamiliar vehicle/eg, borrowed, etc, please be extra careful, especially with all the controls, tires, brakes, clutch, steering, etc. Ask the owner if there is anything you need to know about the vehicle.

The victim is a Shell employee, since my dad also works there. According to sources, the cement truck's braking system failed and it belongs to Shin Yang.

I think to a certain degree, Shin Yang should be held responsible. Plus, the victim has a family with kids. RIP .

That's Uncle Sim. My dad's best friend from SSB. He attended my wedding last december and that's the last time I saw him before leaving to KL. To get this news from my dad yesterday is so so saddening!

Road accidents are very frequent especially to reckless people and drivers on the streets. Unless vigilance, safety-consciousness and discipline will be innate to people, accidents will be frequent on the road.

So many people lost their life in road accidents. It's a common issue for consideration to government. Government should take some steps to reduce road mishaps to waste bugs every year on it. http://www.sa-so.com
