The good old days - egg in Milo
During the 60's, I stayed in the kampong (farm) and we have hens laying eggs literally under the house. Our house was built on stilts and to make good use of the pillar, we nailed boxes onto them and the hens will lay eggs there.
ok... this lucky hen is an exception.
The eggs were fully organic. The hens ate corn, vegetables and left over. Needless to say, the eggs are 100% fresh.
So when we had visitors (very seldom), my mother would boil water, cracked an egg into a glass or cup, put in some milo and sugar and served it to the guest of honour!
Yes, that was our best drink of the day! The guest should consider this a real privilege to be served in this manner.
Do you have any such experience? Do let me know.
