Fortunately we went out looking for her. Otherwise, I would be feeling so guilty if anything happens to her! She was so happy when she saw our car after waiting for 3 hours! How loyal is this dog of ours!

Loyal Dog
This evening, Joshua and myself decided to cycle over to Pujut 7 (about 1KM away) to buy some chicken feed. Snowie, our dog, saw us on the bicycles and was very excited and insisted on following. No matter how hard we discouraged her to follow, it just didn't work. So, we decided to ride very fast and we found her "out-of-sight" as we reached Pujut 7. We entered Pujut 7D, did our shopping at the shop, and exit via Pujut 7C.When we reached Pujut 7, we didn't see her and thought that she had gone back. We cycled back and found her not at home. There was no sign of her even at 8:00PM. We decided to go out looking for her and we found Snowie still waiting at Pujut 7D junction! Obviously she saw us entering Pujut 7D but expecting us to come out using the same road.

Still Birth - all babies died
I blogged about the number of babies that Snowie is going to deliver. Well, she got into problem with the delivery and ended up with all the babies dead - one yellow, 1 black, one spotted yellow and white and one white.
The babies got stuck inside her for many days and we tried very hard to save Snowie whereby we could do nothing for the babies. The babies came out one a day!
So, she was given 3 days supply of steroid (anti inflammatory) and antibiotic for obvious reason. She also got a jab of antibiotic. When the first batch of drug finished, we went to get a new supply because Snowie looked very sick and continuously gave out foul discharge. She was given antibiotic, steroid and appetite enhancer. Now she has been eating quite well and very much alive. I should say that she is now out of danger. As I am going away for the next few days, Ah Jon, mummy and the two small boys had a go administering the drug to Snowie.
She was looking at me wondering why it wasn't me feeding medicine!
Ah Jon pushed his thumb and first finger into her jaw in order to open to the mouth.
Ah Jon put the medicine into her mouth. Mistake here...he must lift the mouth upward and drop the medicine to the back of her tongue!
She spitted out the medicine immediately. Ah Jon tried again... but you can see that she was very uncooperative.
After a few try, she refused to open her mouth ... as if saying...I hate the medicine!
Ok, Ah Jon didn't put the medicine deep enough...
... so he tried to open the mouth a little ...
... and fed her with some water so that she would swallow the last medicine.
Ah Jon held her mouth, she swallowed, thinking that the medicine had really gone down. He let her off but immediately she spitted the medicine out.
Ok, I took over. Within second, the medicine was swallowed.
This afternoon, mummy and the two boys struggled with her for 15 minutes, trying to get her to swallow the medicine. She ran all over the place and by the time she finally swallowed them, the pills were all "melted".
To feed medicine to dogs, push a finger from each side of the jaw. Grab hold of the lower jaw with the two fingers and lift the head upright. The mouth will automatically open. Drop the medicine to the back of the tongue and hold the mouth shut for a few seconds or until you feel the swallow. Otherwise, open the mouth a little bit and pour in some water. Hold the mouth until the dog swallows. Is there a better way than this?

Medical Emergency
Remember I talk about my very pregnant bitch, Snowie? Exactly after 2 months, she was supposed to deliver her babies. However, on Monday, we found her bahaviour "funny". Mummy couldn't sleep on Monday night and searched the internet on canine pregnancy. Then, on Tuesday morning, we found greenish discharge. We knew immediately that she had a medical emergency. It meant that her water bag had broken and if the babies weren't taken out immediately, all the babies would be dead. We took a day leave to look for a vet. He came and gave her two jabs, one antibiotic and another to induce contraction. Nothing happened for the whole day.
On Tuesday, we went to see a vet again. She told us that there was nothing we could do because the babies were dead and once contraction was over, there was no way to induce another one. So, she gave us 3 days supply of antibiotic and steriod to stablise snowie's (for RM30!) condition and just hope that she won't die.
We have been forcing her to eat 1-2 raw eggs a day and gave her multi vitamin. Otherwise, she just refused to eat anything.
Today is Friday and she still run around as if nothing had happened. She was barking at stranger this morning and enjoyed her meal of bone!
But for the last few days, she was weak and we thought that she would die from toxin.
We found two dead babies in the compound and there must be some more inside her.
Compare this to human...human would be dead the monent the contraction stop and if the baby was stuck. During the good old days, there was a saying that when a woman gave birth, one of her legs was on the bed and another would be hanging on a coffin. It shows how dangerous is child birth.
I hope snowie is ok.

She has extra nipples!
Mummy was asking this afternoon on the number of babies snowie is going to deliver. I say, probably a few. But how many...as many as the number of nippies? So ...
... I flipped her over to count! Guess what, I always thought the maximum is eight but mummy insisted that it is 10! See how many you can count! My final count is 12! She is a freak! So got extra nipples. God, please don't deliver 12 babies, ok. Otherwise, I don't know what to do with them.

In Desperation
Our Snowie (a name given by Joshua although she is nowhere to snow like), a six months old puppy and bitch, is/was on heat!! So, she has many desperate "boy friends"!
So the male dogs would find all ways to get into our compound. Some would get in but desperate to get out when I got upset with them (they bark and fight non-stop leh!) and chased them with a stick!
This "boy" tried to get out but the drain was blocked. One tried to get in but the head got stuck in-between the gate. So, he yelled for one hour at 3:00AM. I was really angry!
So, this boy was figuring out how to get out across to the other side...
How? The zinc sheet is taller than him!
Try anyway...
Oh man... he poked his nose into the rusty link chain fence (25 years old fence), biting and pushing...
... and finally got through!

By the way, the above black dog has now become very friendly with us! He is lingering around the house, "protecting" his new "girl friend"! We suspect that Snowie is now pregnant!
Oh, you may start to book for free puppy now! I am sure there will be some black ones!
