Imagine that you earn only RM3,000 a month and your expenditure is RM4,500 a month. So, you go out and use your credit card to do your purchase every month. But at the end of the year, your debt is only 50% of your annual earning. When do you think the credit card company will sue you for bankruptcy?
On the other hand, you earned only RM3,000 a month and you saved RM1,000 a month. However, you wanted to start a business, got a loan for RM72K and earned money. That means that your debt is now 200% of your earning. Will you go bankrupt?
If you have not seen my analogy, I am comparing the debt of Malaysia against Singapore whose debt stand at 50+% and 100+% respectively.
M'sia borrow money to hand out but S'pore borrow money for capital investment. That is the major different.
The above is my simplistic comparison. It is of course a little more complicated than this.
So, don't be mislead into thinking that at 50+% debt is safe for Malaysia. It all depend on how the money is used. At the end of the day, you and me and future generations are responsible to pay back!!!
... and don't ever think that getting all the free money from the BR1M, etc is a good thing! WE, people of Malaysia, must eventually pay back!

Now Facebook pages blocked, political videos blocked
Now, our opposition DAP facebook pages, youtube, etc etc... are all blocked! So how do you overcome the system at the moment?
Try putting https:// in front of URL may work. eg, https://www.facebook.com/DAPMalaysia
Someone is getting very desperate now.
For technical discussion, try to read this: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2794929. We have expert there.

PKR and SUPP Ceramah, 30-April-2013
The Ceramah (Political Rally) for PKR attracted substantial number of people. However, for SUPP, there were not many, probably because it was near to closing time.

GE13 Photos, Miri
Some photos I took in Miri for GE13...
The above was put up by BN regarding the country's debt. Unfortunately I have to disagree with the way it is presented. It does not mean that at 52%, M'sia won't go bankrupt.
There are other factors which need to be taken into account, eg, is the borrowing for operational or investment purposes? How much reserved has the country got? (I understand M'sia reserve is a miserable amount compared to all the countries listed); etc...
Sorry for this burr photo ... my first! HAHA I hope it doesn't give you headache.
The above poster for Dato Seb is very good. I have to agree that it adequately describes his quality! But alas, don't put that poster on the right lah... it spoils the "clean" look.
Now, after comment by my fb friend, I finally understand! In M'sia, we all said "Ubah", ie, electing party instead of person. So, for the above, you look at the picture, who would you vote? It tried to shift your thinking away from party to personality... psychology!
A picture of Anwar taken during the recent ceramah...
This photo was taken after Dato Seb successfully submitted his nomination paper!

Ceremah in Miri 26-April-2013
Last night I attended Ceremah by SUPP (BN) and PKR (opposition).
For the BN side, which was at Sebakas, there were probably about 100 people. I think the location wasn't too good. The number of people for PKR in front of Dr Teo's clinic probably ran into 10,000 people. It took me 30 minutes to find a parking lot. Anyway, see the video blow.

Ceremah by PKR at Boulevard 22-April-2013
Last night ceremah by PKR was held at Boulevard. Normally, the respond wasn't very good at that place as the place is quite small. I wish the car park of Boulevard can be used but understandably, Boulevard will never agree to that.
I have no idea where is the ceremah for BN being held. Anyone knows where can I find the details?

A day after nomination
Sunday, 21-April-2013
In Miri, we don't see much political activities going on. Banners have been placed at roundabout only by BN. This is probably understandable as Dr. Michael Teo of PKR was fielded just 24 hours before nomination.
Eunice Lim is supposed to be fielded for DAP but was pulled out at the last minute.
Everywhere I go, people seems to be talking politics nowadays.
Ok, here is a nice song on transformation Malaysia... enjoy!

Nomination Day, 20-April-2013
Today, we saw PKR and SUPP fielding their candidates for GE13 election.
At SUPP (BN) side, we saw at least 1000+ people who is fielding Dato Sebastian Ting. Accompanying him were all the big guns from SUPP Miri.
However, another big gun or two were missing....
On the PKR side, they fielded Dr. Michael Teo. He has a small crowd of well wisher.
But we cannot judge based on the size of the crowd as one of the supporters told me that last year they have similar crowd but they won!
For PKR side, we didn't see Eunice Lim from DAP coming to give support. Original plan was to field Eunice from DAP but due to the fiasco from RoS, only one can be selected.
Another candidate from Star was fielded and I did manage to take a picture of him.
For more photos, click here.
Starting tomorrow, I hope to give more updates on a daily basis to report on Miri election.

Disgraceful Advert From BN
Last three days, the BN government put up a half page advertisement in See Hua newspaper trying to tell people how life would be like under PAS/hudud policies. Of course they are trying to preempt how life would be like with PAS/Hudud law being implemented.
The above appeared on Monday.
It seems to suggest that non-Muslim only enjoyment are women, alcohol and fun at karaoke. How disgusting!
The above tell people how dull life would be when makeup has been taken away. But the BN gov forgot that beauty is your natural self rather than hiding behind a thick layer of artificial makeup. The right image was doctored to exaggerated the effect. The above advertisement drove me up the wall!
I can say that this is the MOST insulting advertisement to humanity from BN government. What is wrong with someone who is not handsome or charming to do work for you? Are they not deserving to earn a living simply because of their look? The most important is that they are competence and not a bunch of retard who dare to put such a half page advertisement on See Hua Daily News. I call this a disgrace, discrimination cos of look and gender discrimination. Haih .... can't our gov be more sensitive and humane ? Or is our care taker government telling us that if you are not handsome or charming, you have no place in the society?

No No No to MCA Dr. Ng Yen Yen
Sometimes, I just wonder why some politician still don't learn their lesson! It looks like when credibility is gone, they might as well step down rather than trying to convince the crowd. If I am in that position, I do not know where to hide!
The politicians have in general forgotten the power of alternative media until 2008 election. Now, I think they are trying to control all the media but still, it is going to be a really rough journey. Only way out is to emerge from living in the dark to the light. Put right what has been wrong. They have 5 years to do that and I think they have failed miserably.
The current government has been giving political talk during this CNY at every possible opportunity. But will it work? Will the people listen?

Anwar CNY Ceremah in Miri
I took some photos of Anwar visit to Miri last night (11-Feb-2013).
During his speech. He looks very worn out after a day on the road.Part of the crowd.
In think about 1000 people came for the ceremah. There was no food served and no money given. Instead, donation will be collected! Yet people still come!
I left early as I was very tired also.

Police brutality at Bersih 3.0
Watching this video clip made me very angry! Our minister said the police did a good job and very professional.
I just wonder beating up innocent people is what they call professional, especially with a long stick. The police is no different from the gangsters!
As a matter of fact, there are so many crime out there which they need to solve.
Very very sad indeed!

So Astro also censor Bersih 3.0 video from BBC
We all know that the BN regime wanted the people to believe that BN is always doing the right thing, they are not the aggressor but the demonstrator. So, if that is the case, why do they need to censor the report by BBC?
Just watch the above report. This simply means that the current government has more to hide!
This also prove that Astro is also a BN regime running dog! I will terminate my license. There is no point only to be fed by rosy stories.
Updates: Read it here.
In a nutshell: Astro broadcast operations senior vice-president Rohaizad Mohamed explained to The Malaysian Insider that the 2:16-minute clip was cut in accordance with national content regulations. However, the clip contained shots where Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spoke to reporters.
I believe the so called national content regulations is a verbal request from the BN government to censor whatever is not in favour of the government or face the music!

Is TheStar online worth reading?
I found that TheStar on-line is such a pro government paper that it is not longer worth reading! It carries news which, in my opinion, not worth to be published! My interpretation is that they are nothing but a vehicle for government propaganda.
Story 1:
Anwar told to step down!
Story 1:
Anwar told to step down!
KUALA LUMPUR: Several non-governmental organisations have urged parliamentarians to propose a law that allows impeachment of leaders.
A delegation of eight men representing five NGOs led by the Selangor Anti-Irregularities Federation (GAPS) met Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Abu Zahar Nika Ujang and submitted a memorandum demanding the resignation of Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday.
On the other hand, if such a law is passed through, most YBs from BN will have to resign!
Story 2:
KUALA LUMPUR: Taxi drivers in the Klang Valley are pleading with the Bersih 3.0 organisers to cancel their proposed rally.
They claimed that 36,000 taxi and limousine operators would be affected if the rally went on.
I pity the taxi drivers! But they are so short sighted! Why can't they bring passengers to the rally?

Hannah Yeoh
I tried to avoid posting political article. But I just can't ignore some good one. I am not being biased but if anyone has good one from any party, I would be more than happy to post.
Hear her speaks. On youtube, some criticized her English. But many young people of her age can only speak broken English!

Singapore is going to the poll today
From the e-news I read, I cut out a few points that I picked up:
1. The bedrock of the PAP's support is its delivery of jobs and education, its reputation for an efficient, corruption-free bureaucracy and a history of savvy policy choices — such as embracing English as a common language — that helped boost gross domestic product per capita to $43,867 last year from $428 in 1960.
2. Rights groups condemn Singapore's use of the death penalty for drug couriers.
3. Rich people love the place and trust the PAP. Singapore has the world's highest percentage of millionaires — households with at least $1 million in liquid assets — at 11.4 percent of the country's 5 million population, according to Boston Consulting Group.
4. "Don't rock this foundation," Lee KY said last week. "Remember, don't risk your assets, property values, job opportunities."
5. Singaporeans complain that the foreigners have depressed wages, boosted housing prices and clogged public transportation — and opposition leaders are tapping into that unease.
6. "I'm not against the PAP," 35-year-old restaurant manager Francis Loh said at a Workers Party rally last weekend. "I just want more opposition in Parliament and someone to speak for the poor people."
Opposition rally drew crowd of about 30,000! This is amazing. But the comment from Francis Loh is right, any good government requires more opposition. We also need it. The government must be matured enough to acknowledge that a strong opposition is healthy and beneficial.
I believe that PAP will still come out as winner but there will be more opposition members. Perhaps, the government will become more people focus across the board.
Their per capita income is $43,867 (about RM100,000, ie, almost RM9K/month!) and we are still shouting for a freeze in petrol price! The police arrested those who ask for minimum wages. What a contrast!
The above is summarised from here.

Singapore General Election
Singapore is going to the poll tomorrow 7-May 2011. I am actually not qualified to say anything as I am not a witness myself. However, there are something worth noticing as I read them from the e-news:
1. The opposition ceramah crowd is as big as we see in Sarawak, ie, >10,000 strong! This is creating history!
2. Singapore prime minister apologise for mistakes made! In Malaysia, they were covering up!
3. Strong support for opposition at many places
4. They are also asking for change, ie, ubah!
5. The opposition candidate is as young as 24! Looking at our new DAP candidates, they were also very young.
These are all their various political parties:
