This is serious accusation!

This is a serious accusation! Read the article at SarawakReport and decide for yourself.

This is the testimony of the headman as per recorded in Sarawak Report:
“My name is Kuching ak Moyan and i am one of the headmen in Tamin constituency. In the just concluded State election, i was given three cheques, one for RM2,000, another for RM3,000 and the third for RM5,000 by the Barisan Nasional candidate, Joseph Mauh. I have cashed out the first two cheques, both for a total RM5,000 but the last one, for RM5,000, was bounced. So i sent it back to him and he promised that he will bank in the amount instead into my account. Up till today, i have not received the RM5,000. The three cheques were given to me on the 13th of April so that we will give our support to the Barisan Nasional. In the year 2006 State election, each voter here was given only RM20 but in this election, the amount was increased to RM50 per voter. There are 15 voters in this longhouse and all of them were given RM50 each. I think all of us have voted for Barisan Nasional. Ofcourse I know that the money the Barisan Nasional give to us would amount to nothing if the government grabbed our land. But what to do, we still have to vote for the government as the government has given us the money. Yes, i know we can just accept the Barisan Nasional money and vote for the opposition but since everybody else voted for Barisan Nasional this time, i decided to follow suit.”

Election Campaign 2011

Today, the state of Sarawak goes to the poll. Who will win, no one knows until this evening. I took quite a few pictures of the election campaign. I attached them here for your enjoyment.
Opposition asked for change. This poster is placed in the most strategic location.
Some from SUPP/BN
Opposition asked people to take any incentive money offered but vote for DAP.
Poster by SUPP/BN
BN Supporter
Vote for BN=vote for stability; Vote for DAP=Vote for lies....

Change... but Miri has already undergone big change!
Someone masked the face of the "emperor", etc. This one is by DAP.
Huge poster on the slope.
Promoting a healthy Miri....
BN posters had too many words!
These posters had too many words. No one got the time to read them.

1Malaysia, 1 heart dinner at Eastwood 15-April-2011

Tonight SUPP 1Malaysia, 1Heart dinner was ...
... held at Eastwood Valley Golf Club in Miri...
... at the restaurant on the lake. There was a total of 500 tables but I saw quite a few empty tables.
Big prizes worth a total of RM40K consisting of large LCD TVs, etc were given away to lucky winners.
To top it up, everyone was served with food ...
... and free flow of drink, like beer. They were all sponsored by someone.
I estimated 3500 attendees.
speeches by the prominent businessmen of Miri ... Datuk Lau
Performances ...
Speeches by SUPP big gun... I have to say that he gave a good speech last night.
The crowd...

Sorry that I didn't manage to take any photo for the DAP side. I was caught in the traffic jam but I know that the crowd was just as big as ever with everyone braving the rain.

General Election Decision Pointers

Why vote? One vote alone may not mean much but many votes together become a voice to be reckoned with. Let your voice be heard. Let the RAKYAT voice be heard.

Remember that we are indirectly voting for the future which will affect our next generation. One ask for change and another ask for status quo but promise to continue improving.

Change is big issue. Many people don't like change because they are uncertain of the outcome. If status quo, we need to ask whether we are happy with what is currently happening. A few questions may help you to decide:

Do you think our politicians in power are corrupted?
Do you think our civil service is corrupted?
Do you think they are incompetent?
Do you think the people in power set themselves above the law?
Do you think our leadership has lost its way?
Do you think we are getting more united or more divided by race and religion?
Do you think we have a questionable justice system?
Do you think that the current leadership are wasting our wealth?
Do you think our children will suffer more?
Do you want to see a change?

YOU CAN MAKE THE CHANGE HAPPEN!!!

(The above is not my own writing but came in through e-mail)

Ceramah 14-April-2011 with BIG guns

In Miri, we witnessed the unleashing of big guns from both side of the alliance, ie, the ruling party (BN) and the opposition (DAP). The BN brought in the top gun, ie, the prime minister himself. He has been in Sarawak helping the BN component parties.
The evening from the BN side was full of food, entertainment, speeches and full of high tech stuff...
1Malaysia dance troupe
Mountain of food ... fried noodle ...
... fried rice...
... Chinese song to keep the audience entertained ...
... must be her best performance with the title "bad boy" ...
SUPP top gun, DR. George Chan waiting for PM to arrive ...
... while waiting, I also take picture with some not so big guns.... YB Lee, myself, PM Press secretary, Sebastian  Ting
MCA top gun, the famous Chua!
Here he came ... the PM. The crowd went crazy!
... signing autograph and shaking hands...
... the crowd!
... Attentive as well ... with occasional shouting of support!
George speaks ...
... next PM Najib . I have to say that he gave a very good speech. Content wise, I won't comment.
After the speech, he went off to the coffee shop for "yam Cha" and speaking to the leaders.
On the Opposition side, Karpal came to give his support.
As usual, the crowd at this side was huuuge!!
Compare the two sides... one side was a carnival atmosphere and this side, just crude. The size of the crowd for the opposition was never short of people, I think it was even bigger than the night before. At the BN side, I think was about 25 % of the opposition.
Everyone at the BN side was well dressed whereas at this side, they were just ordinary.

(Note: All photos taken during the ceramah will only be uploaded to my facebook later. I will announce it here when they are uploaded)

All set for PM/BN/SUPP Street Carnival

North Yu Seng is closed and is all ready for the "PM Meet the Rakyat" street carnival! Are you going?
They promise free food, drink, and entertainment!! Starting at 6:00PM.

Just at the other side, Karpal will be there to give his ceramah speech.

Go go go ...

Ceramah 13-April-2011

SUPP had their ceramah at Pelita. When I arrived at the place, they were just winding up.
There was quite a lot of people attending...
As usual, autograph time...
For DAP ceramah in town, YB Ngah Kok Min was there speaking.
I saw the largest crowd so far. Someone estimated it to be 15K people. At the end of ceramah, many lit up their candles....
My friend Elvis Chung took some very nice photos using his fish eye lens. Just see the size of the crowd.
Tomorrow, Karpal Singh will be speaking in front of Teo's clinic (ie, same place) at 7:00PM.

As for the ceramah from BN, it will be at Ming Cafe (next to Mega Hotel). The road will be closed. PM will be speaking. Time is 6:PM.

Go go go ...

Ceramah 12-April-2011

I went to the SUPP ceramah just after 7PM at Pelita. I was disappointed that it was just a playback of recording. I am not sure whether they have some warm bodies speaking later. Haih... no one pay attention to the recording!
After a meeting with my friends, I went to the DAP ceramah at 10:45PM held at Boulevard Peking Duck Restaurant. ...
He was the last speaker of the night. He is good! From far, I thought there was quarreling!
The crowd was huge! It jam up the whole crossroad. No chair was never a problem as they brought their own! They disperse only after everything was over, ie, around 11:20PM!
After the speech, it was time for autograph.
I took a picture with the superman speaker of the evening! Don't get me wrong, I take picture with all the "stars" including those from SUPP.
