Porky Shop at e-mart has brought out some new products for the local market. Normally all these products are imported frozen and they don't taste good.
Sliced smoked pork feet ready to be served!
Just in case you don't want it sliced, they are available in whole pork feet!
Fresh Smoked Bacon in block. Mdm Chieng proudly holding up a block of this bacon.
Smoked Bacon... you can order what you need and they will slice it for you.
Honey Ham. This must be a first in Miri available freshly made.
Pastrami... it look delicious! Also a first in Miri!
They also made a whole lot of sausages in-house. No point for me to tell you how delicious unless you try it! They are precooked and I will grill it or gently fry it before serving. If you are lucky to find it fresh from their oven, they can be eaten immediately!
This is where Porky shop is at e-mart. It is just opposite the native BBQ stalls by the main road.

I visited their shop when they were first open. I look at their concept and I know that they are going to be popular because customers can choose what they want. That is what we love to do right?
Forgot to mention, all precooked food is vacuum sealed to maintain freshness.

If you don't have a GSP:

Try this:
Cross Pujut 7 bridge and then proceed in the direction of Asian bridge. You keep driving until you see the big e-Mart sign on the left . Turn left, turn right and turn left. Porky Shop is on your right.

If you are from Brunei:
Cross Asian Bridge, turn left at traffic light. Continue driving until you just pass e-Mart sign on your right. Turn Right, then right, then left.

If you don't know where is Pujut 7 bridge:
From Miri town, go in the direction of Lutong.
After the flyover in Pujut, 12 o'clock on first roundabout, 3 o'clock next roundabout. Cross traffic light and you are in the direction of Pujut 7 roundabout.

If you are from Lutong: After Lutong bridge, 9 o'clock at the next roundabout. Cross traffic light and you are in the direction of Pujut 7 roundabout.

Happy Good Friday

Christian celebrate Good Friday in remembrance of what Jesus Christ had done 2000 years ago. He is son of the most high God who was sent to redeem all of us from the sure eternal death.
He was crucified at Calvary.... Jesus was made to carry his own cross ...
... nailed to the cross...
... suffered the most humiliating death ...
He promised that he will raise from death in 3 days... the story will continue!

Flower and proudest bird

At the Borneo Rain Forest Resort, one may enjoy the beauty of nature...
... lots of wild flowers... We used to eat the matured fruit of this plant.
The peacock must be the prettiest bird and it always show off its beautiful feathers.But it can be very aggressive.

Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort

Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort is 39KM from Miri town. They have quite a lot of facilities, especially for team building, etc...
... Wet Postman walk. I have not seen anyone walking across the rope successfully...
... Main entrance to the resort hotel.
The top floor is private residence. 5th floor is for offices.Bottom 4 floors are for hotel guests.

You don't need to stay there overnight in order to visit the place. You could just pop in early in the morning and pay RM75/person for a day trip. This includes meals, tea and tour. For children, it would be cheaper.

Snake on tree, Peacock, etc

There are many different animals in Borneo Rain Forest Resort.

Macro Photography ...

Ok, macro photography to me means that I have been taking more pictures of tiny creatures. So here they are:
This bug is barely 10mm in size.

A spider? Looks like a robot from another planet. But no, it is a spider because it spins web! It was tiny, perhaps also 10mm across. But very colourful.
This time, I manage to get a clear shot of this tiny dragon fly. The body is probably about 8mm.
Ok, this time I used a new 105mm lens from Nikon. It was one of those super fast and accurate lens using silence wave motor.

Beautiful Miri

I like Miri... a place that is not too big nor too small. I could get most things I need. Worse, I just order them through the mail. One thing for sure, I dare not compare it with Sibu when prepared food is concerned. It is so expensive here.
I like the beach... especially the sunset....
... and the park where there are plenty of flowers.

美里是个好地方，
风光美丽像天堂，
世外桃园无数个，
热带雨林数第一。

Bugs and more bugs

Jungle lizards are master in camouflage. They can blend themselves with the environment until they are almost invisible. Just look at these two lizards...
