Our trees... going botak
Now I understand why a few big trees were chopped down at my road and elsewhere! I read in the paper the other day that the contractor is paid RM250 per ton for cutting down trees!
A few days ago, they brought in heavy equipment and blocked the busy road so that they can "trim" the trees. After someone complained in the newspaper, the trimming suddenly stopped. However, a few trees look like botak!

you are lucky to have the tree botak... guess what? My place they total cut the tree off. No more trees just left the bottom trunk with the roots :(

TZ, they did the same to the trees near my house!
Filip: Yes, they are very special to me also. The leaves will grow back very quickly. However, it is the way the contractor did the job which led to complain because they caused massive traffic jam during peak hours.
Thanks to YB Fong Poh Teck or else all the trees along the road will be all botak.
these botak trees will grow again, but those that got chop till only the bottom trunk is left is as good as gone :(
