Some 30+ years ago, I was studying in England and if I compare myself with my children now, I think they are a lot more sophiscated. For example, birthday, we hardly celebrated for each other simply because we didn't really remember their birthdays. Nowadays, we have facebook, etc, which broadcasted upcoming events, etc. So, there is no excuses for forgetting!
Now, my daughters all have their own individual "extra" skills which they picked up while studying in UK. I know for sure that ...

... Stephanie (back left) is an expert in making sushi. So, she made this table full + lots of them hidden somewhere, with her sisters to celebrate their friend's birthday (everyonel shared cost). During my time, I was already very happy if I had food on my own plate as I was on an extreme budget of RM600 per month to cover everything from food to accommodation to tuition fees!

Look at this delicious sushi... I want I want ...
Ok, we didn't send them money to enjoy luxuries in life. They had been working very hard to earn extra pocket money to spend. In UK, they are now legally allowed to work 20 hours a week. During my time, we were not allowed to work. If found, we will be deported!
